Asura Scans is a fan library for manhwa, manga and webtoon readers. It grew out of scanlation — fan translations of Korean comics and Japanese comics by volunteer translation groups — and now publishes the full written story of each series, so you can read the plot without waiting on image scans. Text pages load fast, stay readable when the scans are down, and don't sit behind the paywall.

Readers use it to catch up on a series, check what happened in a chapter, or keep reading during an outage. Why is Asura Scans so slow?

Speed drops for two reasons. First, traffic. When a popular manhwa or webtoon chapter drops, thousands of readers hit the server at once and pages queue. Second, weight. A scanlation page loads dozens of large images, so your browser downloads several megabytes before you see anything. Ad scripts and distance from the server add more delay.

Written-story pages skip the images. You get the plot of the Korean comics or Japanese comics you follow as text, so a chapter loads in under a second even during a rush. Use the meter to see the gap.

Is Asura Scans shutting down?

A dead link is not a shutdown. Asura Scans has changed domains several times. Scanlation sites move often because of hosting limits, ad networks, and takedown notices from legal manga platforms. Each move strands readers on an old URL, and the rumor mill turns that into "the site is gone."

Is Asura Scans Premium worth it?

Premium buys three things: early chapters, no ads, and a badge. It costs about the price of one coin on Lezhin Comics or Tappytoon, but it covers the whole library instead of a single title. How to fix Asura Scans Client Side Error?

A client side error starts in your browser, not on the server. The page loads but a script fails, so the reader goes blank or throws an error box. The fix is on your device. Pick the cause that fits and follow the step.

The paywall is a timed lock, not a permanent one. The newest chapters sit behind Premium for a short early-access window, then turn free for everyone. Legal manga platforms like MangaPlus and Webtoon use the same idea, and coin sites like Lezhin Comics and Tappytoon charge per chapter instead. Here the window is about seven days.
