Asura Scans

About Asura Scans

Asura Scans is a fan project for manhwa, manga and webtoon readers. Instead of hosting scanned pages, we publish the full written story of each series so you can read the plot anywhere, even when the scans are slow or down.

Every summary is written from scratch. We add genres, ratings and a growing, searchable library so you can find your next read and pick up exactly where you left off.

Our Story

Asura Scans began in 2021 as a small group of manhwa readers who kept losing their place when scanlation sites went down or moved domains. We started writing out the plot of each chapter for ourselves, then shared it — and readers kept asking for more. What began as a handful of summaries has grown into a library, written and edited by a volunteer team.

Who We Are

We are a small, anonymous team of readers, writers and editors who love manhwa, manga and manhua. Our summaries are drafted with AI assistance and then checked by a human editor against the source before they go live — we don't publish pages unread, and we don't invent bylines or credentials. We are independent and reader-funded, with no ties to any publisher.

What We Do

We turn each series into a complete written story — synopsis, arcs and chapter-by-chapter breakdowns you can read anywhere, on any connection. We do not host scanned pages. Here is what that means in practice:

  • Full written story summaries for popular manhwa, manga and manhua.
  • Chapter-by-chapter breakdowns you can actually read — no scans.
  • Genres, ratings and a growing, searchable library.

Why you can trust us

Every published summary is checked by a human editor against the source before it goes live. We label predictions and theories as our own reads rather than facts, cite the creators and publishers of each series, correct mistakes when readers report them, and never republish artwork or scanned pages. Our editorial standards are public on our Editorial Guidelines page. Editorial Guidelines.

Who runs Asura Scans

Asura Scans is published by Asura Scans Media, an independent fan-run publisher. It is a non-commercial hobby project and is not affiliated with any manga publisher, studio or licensor.

How these summaries are made

Asura Scans is run by a small, volunteer team who prefer to stay anonymous. We won't invent bylines, headshots or credentials to look bigger than we are. Each summary is drafted with AI assistance and then checked by a human editor against the source before it is marked reviewed or published — pages that haven't cleared that check stay unpublished. If a page says something was verified, a person verified it.
